Writer, photographer, reporter, documentary filmmaker, and artist, Bruce Young brings over three decades of experience and dedication to the tasks he has taken on through the years. He has worked in public relations, politics (at the White House), video production and editing, editorial photography, as well as news reporting and documentary production, traveling as far as China and the Russian Far East.
Working with everything from one-inch videotape machines and tape-to-tape editing systems in the 1980s to the most current nonlinear editing systems and digital cameras today, Bruce has at one time or another done almost every job in the video production industry, from creating full-length original projects to producing single-day turn stories for local news.
With a lifelong interest in the visual arts, Bruce first began work in still photography when in college, and even as he worked in other fields, he acquired a loyal list of commercial and journalistic clients that he began working for full time in 1988. As well as assigned work, he also has pursued personal projects in art, documentary, and news photography.
Bruce always has been known for his writing and storytelling skills in all his projects, which was the core of his journalistic education in college. He has continued to hone his word skills in print whenever the opportunity presented, particularly as a regular contributor to The NPPA News Photographer magazine.
